Weekly Update

Students in grades 9 through 11 took the PSAT last Wednesday and can expect their scores to be available in approximately 4 to 6 weeks. This week is the last week of the grading period and report cards will be handed out at the upcoming parent teacher conferences and during Homeroom on November 1st. In-person conferences will take place in the Memorial Gym from 4 to 7 PM on Thursday 10/26. All high school parents are highly encouraged to attend. For those who are unable to attend in-person conferences, teachers will also be sending out a link for parents to sign up for a virtual conference. Virtual conferences will be between 1 and 3 PM on Friday 10/27. Please be on the lookout for emails from teachers with a virtual conference sign up link. Each of your child's teachers will have their own sign up link.

Assignment Recovery will take place Monday for social studies, Tuesday for electives and directed electives, and Friday for math. Attendance at Assignment Recovery is mandatory for any student who received a slip from their teachers. However, all students are welcome to attend if they would like extra help in that subject area.

Students will be working on their individual growth plans through Khan Academy during Homeroom this week, as well as checking their grades in RDS.

The School City of Whiting is partnering with Geminus to host the Hidden in Plain Sight Presentation. To learn more about drug trends and what to look for as guardians, please join us on October 24th in the high school cafeteria. You can RSVP at the link below.

Students in need of math and science help can attend virtual tutoring sessions with IUN student teachers through the attached documents. Tutoring will take place every Monday and Tuesday from 3 to 4 PM. Plenty other free tutoring resources are also available in the attached document. Thank you for you continued support of our school and community. Have a great Oiler week!
