As students return to our building today to start their 2nd week of the 2nd quarter, we would like to emphasize the importance of getting off to a good start. Please encourage your child to consistently be present and prepared for class. Remind them to self-advocate and speak with their teachers or counselor if they start to fall behind in any of their classes. There are a number of resources available to students to help them improve their grades.
Next Tuesday (November 7th) will be an asynchronous eLearning day. Students will need to login to complete attendance questions for each of their classes. Teachers may have additional assignments for them to complete as well.
As part of our school's reaccreditation process, students, staff, and guardians have been asked to complete surveys. Reaccreditation allows our school to issue credits and diplomas to our students.
Our Oiler of the Week last week was Aaron Jimenez. Teachers vote on Oilers of the Week by choosing students who exemplify our 5 core values (Self-Advocacy, Responsibility, Self-Discipline, GRIT, and Growth Mindset).
Homeroom teachers have been asked to report students to the office and assign discipline if they do not have an ID or are out of dress code. This includes wearing crocs. Crocs are no longer allowed to be worn at the high school. Please reiterate to your child the importance of dressing appropriately and having an ID while at school.
Lastly, if you ordered a yearbook from last year, they are ready for pickup in the high school office. Thank you for your continued support of our school and community. Have a great Oiler week!
