Tomorrow, November 7th, is an eLearning day. Students are expected to login to their Google Classrooms to complete their attendance questions. Teachers will be accessible via email to answer instructional support questions.
As part of our re-accreditation, we are asking for parent input. Please complete the survey at the bottom of your email if you have not already. Re-accreditation ensures that our school is able to issue credits and diplomas to our students. Your support in this process is appreciated.
Assignment Recovery starts up again next week for students who are failing and missing assignments. Your child's teacher will be in contact with you if your child is assigned an Assignment Recovery date. Failure to attend Assignment Recovery will result in a detention.
Thanksgiving break is November 22nd through November 24th. We hope our students are able to spend some extra time with family during this holiday and show gratitude to those around them.
Our Staff Member of the Quarter was recently announced as Mr. Sanfratello. Mr. Sanfratello is currently in his 2nd year as a social studies teacher at Whiting High School, where he also serves as the Booster Club sponsor and Cross Country coach.
Alfredo Ornelas won the Oiler of the Week for last week. Teachers vote on Oilers of the Week by nominating students who exemplify our 5 core values (self-advocacy, responsibility, self-discipline, grit, and growth mindset). These students then earn a dress down week the following week.
Additionally, students whose parents attended the Hidden in Plain Sight presentation are allowed to have a dress down day on Wednesday 11/8.
During Homeroom this week, students will be learning how to access their PSAT scores from the test they took in October.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and community. Have a great week!
