During Homeroom this week, students will be completing their interventions in Khan Academy and Edmentum, as well as doing activities for black history month and counselor's week. As a reminder, intervention days are important to improve student scores on the SAT. The SAT is an exam given to students during their junior year and their results will be sent to colleges to help determine admission into their programs. Our SAT date this year is set for March 18th.
Assignment Recovery starts next week for students who are failing a class and miss and assignment in that class. Failure to attend Assignment Recovery may result in disciplinary action.
National Honor Society is sponsoring a dress down day next Thursday, February 13th, for valentines day. Students can pay a dollar to wear pink or red on that day. The money will then be donated to the local animal shelter.
The sectionals dance is coming up on March 1st. Tickets are on sale this week and are 10 dollars each. We will need to sell 100 tickets by the 13th in order to have the dance.
Congratulations to Bianca DelMuro and Max Segura, who were our Oilers of the Week last week. Teachers vote for students to be Oilers of the Week by nominating students who exemplify our five core values (self-discipline, responsibility, self-advocacy, grit. and growth mindset).
Boys basketball is home against Bishop Noll this Wednesday. JV starts at 5:30 and varsity starts at 7.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and community.
Have a great Oiler Week!
