You may have received a phone call through our automatic call system due to your child not completing their attendance questions during eLearning yesterday. If you received this call, please have your child reach out to their teacher to see if they can make up their attendance questions that are causing them to be "truant" from class during eLearning. During Homeroom this week, students will be completing their individual growth plans through Khan Academy and Edmentum, as well as doing activities related to Black History Month.
Assignment Recovery continues this week for any student who is failing a course and misses an assignment in that course. Thursday is with Mrs. Morando for Science and Friday is with Mr. Simmons for math.
The SAT date has changed from March 28th to March 11th. Our juniors will be taking a practice test on March 4th to prepare for their test on the 11th. This will be done during periods 1 - 4. Students in grades 9, 10, and 12 will have a regular school day. The SAT is an important test that may drastically improve our students' possibilities of getting into a college of their choosing.
Congratulations to Amelia Camarena and Aleeya Thomas who were our Oilers of the Week last week. Teachers vote on Oilers of the Week by nominating students who exemplify our 5 core values (Responsibility, Self-Discipline, Self-Advocacy, Grit, and Growth Mindset).
The Girls Basketball team is having a fundraiser this week. They will be selling Double Good Popcorn. Reach out to Coach Young or a player if you are interested in contributing to their program.
Picture make-ups are tomorrow morning at the high school.
Our senior night for band, cheer, and boys basketball will be at our last home basketball game this Friday against River Forest. JV starts at 5:30 and varsity starts at 7.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and community.
Have a great Oiler Week!
